More MOME
Earlier this month, I previewed the upcoming second year of our anthology, MOME, in which I announced that the third volume (Winter 2006), coming early next year, would feature a new 30-page story, "The Veiled Prophet," by EPILEPTIC author David B. Well, it gets even better. I'm also pretty goddamn stoked to announced that MOME will also be publishing a new 36-page David B. story, "The Armed Garden." In fact, for boring reasons related to pagination, "The Veiled Prophet" will actually be bumped back to the fourth volume of MOME, coming out next Spring, and "The Armed Garden" will now appear in the third volume. This is David B.'s first English-language appearance since the publication of his wonderful post-Epileptic follow-up, BABEL, which will continue from Fantagraphics next year in our new "Ignatz" line. Like the "Veiled Prophet," "The Armed Garden" is the story of an ancient mad prophet, Rohan of the Adamites. The story, presented in a beautiful two-color format, originally ran as four chapters in the French anthology LAPIN but will appear in its entirety in the third MOME. Here's a sneak peek:
65 pages of new work by David B. in two issues is a Grand Fucking Thing. Don't miss it. By the way, the second issue of MOME ships next month, and here's the line-up:
