Pakistan's Danish embassy reopened on Monday for the first time since the public outrage aroused by the publication of a blasphemous caricature of the Prophet Mohammad in a Denmark newspaper, reports reaching here from Copenhagen said.
Pakistan gave Denmark the green light to reopen its embassy, which closed on Feb. 17, after anger toward the Scandinavian nation over the cartoon incident cooled.
Denmark has now reopened all of its embassies in Muslim countries, including Syria, Indonesia, Iran and Lebanon.
The outrage was triggered by the publication of 12 caricatures of the Prophet Mohammad by Danish Daily Jyllands-Posten in September 2005.
The cartoons, which are considered blasphemous by most Muslims, were reprinted in some other European papers, provoking outrage in the Muslim world and a boycott of Danish products in most Muslim countries.
Some Muslim countries recalled ambassadors and even severed diplomatic relations with Denmark.
